Cryogenic logistics, built for life sciences

How MedPulse Logistics moves the most fragile, irreplaceable material in medicine, from IVF embryos to cell and gene therapies, at temperatures where a single lapse cannot be undone.

Some consignments can be replaced if something goes wrong. A patient's embryos cannot. Neither can a cord blood unit banked at birth, a personalised cell therapy cultured from one person's own cells, or a decade of biobank specimens. This is the material of modern life sciences, and it moves at temperatures most couriers never touch.

MedPulse Logistics is a specialised cryogenic and life-sciences courier for Sydney and regional NSW. We move temperature-controlled and deep-frozen medical material across cold chain, dry ice and cryogenic tiers, with the documentation to prove every degree and every handover. For reproductive medicine, cell and gene therapy, biologics and biobanking, that record is not paperwork. It is the whole point.

01 · The tiersFrom 2–8°C to −196°C

"Temperature-controlled" is not one thing. Life-sciences material sits across a spectrum, and each tier needs a different method:

Cryogenic consignments travel in validated dry-vapour shippers, with hold times set to comfortably exceed the journey.

02 · Dry shippersCryogenic, without the free liquid

A dry-vapour shipper is the safe way to move cryogenic material. Liquid nitrogen is absorbed into a porous lining, so the shipper holds cryogenic temperatures with no free liquid to spill. It is safer to handle and accepted for transport where an open dewar of liquid nitrogen is not.

Two things decide whether the material survives the journey: the shipper's validated hold time must comfortably exceed the run, with margin; and it must be charged, handled and monitored correctly. MedPulse Logistics carries dry shippers upright and restrained, and keeps the vehicle ventilated. Nitrogen gas displaces oxygen, so ventilation is a genuine safety control. We never seal a gassing shipper in an unventilated cabin. It is all set out in our dry shipper handling protocol.

03 · The materialReproductive medicine, cell & gene therapy, biobanks

Different clients, one standard of care. As a cryogenic specimen courier, MedPulse Logistics is built for:

04 · CustodyDocumented end to end

For material this valuable, who held it, when, and at what temperature is the difference between a defensible delivery and a disputed one.

Every MedPulse Logistics cryogenic run is built to produce a complete record: proof of collection, temperature and status monitoring appropriate to the shipper, GPS tracking of the vehicle, and proof of delivery with the receiver identified at handover into their own cryogenic storage. If a hold time or the integrity of a shipper is ever threatened, the consignment is isolated and the client is contacted before any handover. Nothing is delivered on an assumption. That is chain of custody in practice, recorded at every step.

05 · The standardGood Distribution Practice, applied to the cold that matters most

MedPulse Logistics builds its procedures to align with the principles of the Australian Code of Good Wholesaling Practice for Medicines and Good Distribution Practice (GDP): a documented quality system, validated temperature-control systems, calibrated monitoring, traceability, and self-inspection.

A word on honesty, because it matters to life-sciences clients: no courier is "TGA-certified" or "GDP-accredited"; those are not things the TGA issues to couriers. What a serious specialist can do is build to the standard and produce the evidence. That is what we do, and what we invite fertility clinics, laboratories, biobanks and cell and gene therapy teams to hold us to. When the material is irreplaceable, the courier should be the least of your worries.
